Our Model
How We Measure Transformation
Our Restore, Prepare, and Build framework guides participant transformation. The four stages below — Healing, Readiness, Opportunity, and Income — are how we measure the outcomes of that journey, tracking each participant's progress toward employment, income, and long-term stability.
Too often, communities are asked to heal without opportunity — or to work without restoration. In the Mix bridges that gap with a model that addresses the full human journey.
Our integrated ecosystem supports participants from the moment they are ready to heal through to economic independence, ownership, and community leadership.
Each stage includes measurable outcomes that track progress toward employment, income, and long-term stability.
We track how participants move from healing to readiness to opportunity and into income.

Stories
What This Looks Like in Real Life
These outcomes reflect the model in action across every stage of the pathway.
"I came to RECLAIM thinking I just needed a job. What I found was myself. The programming gave me language for what I had been through and a community that actually saw me. Two months later, I launched my own business."
— Program Participant, RECLAIM

Stories like this are not exceptions — they are the model working as designed. Across our programs, participants move from crisis to clarity to ownership, supported by coaching, community, and clear pathways to economic stability.
"In the Mix is doing something that most organizations are not willing to do — they are holding healing and opportunity in the same space. As an employer partner, we have seen the difference. The candidates who come through PAINT | LA are ready in a way that is different."
— Employer Partner, PAINT | LA
PAINT | LA participants enter employer partnerships with emotional readiness, technical exposure, and professional confidence — outcomes built deliberately into every stage of our Restore → Prepare → Build model.

In the Mix has been recognized by community leaders, local agencies, and foundation partners across Los Angeles as a model for healing-centered workforce development.
